Rivers play a vital role in transportation. Many places in the world still rely heavily on rivers as a means of transportation. Sungai Pertemuan is blessed with two rivers, the Muar and Jempol River. It is the place where the two rivers meet. Given its strategic location, it became the route for merchants from the east coast and Siam heading towards Malacca. Just about 500 meters away from Sungai Pertemuan is the Serting River. There is a lane, which was used to by the merchants to pull the ships offshore, from the Muar River into Serting River.
